  • Author Torrey Peters rose to prominence after releasing her 2021 debut novel, Detransition, Baby. The book was nominated for the Women’s Prize for Fiction and received widespread acclaim from critics. Her books explore the ambiguity of gender and the realities of transgender lives at a time when these topics have become politically charged. She appeared at TACAW in late June as part of the First Draft: Live Podcast series with Mitzi Rapkin. On a call with The Sopris Sun’s Sam Brule, the author described the latest book, which is a collection of four longer stories, including the title piece, Stag Dance.
