Tyler Ribich
Tyler Ribich
Tyler Ribich, known on air as "Ty the Ray Man," was a DJ with the Andy Zanca Youth Empowerment Program (AZYEP) from 2012 to 2016. He began at a young age alongside longtime DJs Nat Crawford and Miles Craft, later hosting his own show and collaborating with his friend "Jay Bone Jeremy." What set Tyler apart was his love of writing his own raps. On his monthly show, he performed a "Recap Rap" that highlighted local events and world news, and he wrote thoughtful pieces about the environment, bullying, and teen issues, including an archived favorite titled "Kids Rap." Tyler loved AZYEP and KDNK, and his passion for community radio was clear in every show and during membership drives. Beyond radio, he was a stand-up comedian and visual artist who supported AZYEP through fundraisers, including selling his own cartoon magnets and organizing a youth comedy event. He also left a lasting legacy by designing the AZYEP logo and creating the slogan "We’re Talkin’ AZYEP." Tyler is greatly missed.

I was born in Memphis, Tennessee, grew up in Grass Valley, California, moved to Colorado in 1980, and in 2013 moved to the beautiful town of Carbondale with my wife Valerie. Began my radio experience as a DJ at Fort Lewis College in Durango from 1981-1985. After I graduated from college, I promised myself that I would find another DJ gig sometime in the near future. Well, 28 years later, I found a home at KDNK.

Raised in Huntington Beach, California April grew up chasing the surf and swimming with dolphins. With all the great music originating in Orange County it was a chance to see everyone from X, Social Distortion, The Offspring, No Doubt and many more just starting out at the the local clubs. With a special spot reserved for surf music in her heart you never know what a show may bring. When the Rocky Mountains beckoned she happily settled in the Roaring Fork Valley and has made Carbondale her home. Photography has always been a passion and starting Colorfulcrow Photography in 2015 has been a labor of love and given her a way to share her love of the local landscape with others.
