This year, Delta, Colorado had its own representation in Denver. Delta Pride’s founder and leader, Xavier Saenz (also known as Xavier Van Dyke), performed at Denver Pride Center Stage on Saturday. For Saenz, being able to perform in one of the largest LGBTQ celebrations amidst the challenges facing his community was a dream come true for the small town transman.

Last week, the Delta Conservation District held its annual report and presentation on the Colorado River in Delta, Colorado. KVNF's Cassie Knust followed up with Dave Kanzer, director of Science and Interstate Matters for the Colorado River District, about his report on the river as it pertains to water supply, recreation and the environment.

The first annual Delta Pride festival was held on September 24th. The one-day event was billed “unapologetically relevant” and began with a recognition of the Ute land, and a small Pride march.
