Books are a resource that everyone should be able to enjoy. But valley resident and doctor Rebecca Percy realized that many of her patients didn’t have equal access to reading materials. Percy and a group of volunteers started putting together the Free For All Book Fair which made its debut in Leadville last year. The fair is back this year on December 13th and it’s grown significantly.

La Clínica Del Pueblo, a nonprofit clinic built on caring for patients who otherwise may not be able to afford care, was founded in 2016. La Clinica was created primarily to serve the needs of the valley’s migrant population, and offers fully bilingual services. When over 100 Venezuelan migrants arrived last year, they were one of the first to offer their support.
