La Pompe Jazz

The Arts Campus at Willits presents Pumpkin Jazz throughout the month of October. This series begins Saturday, October 5, with La Pompe Jazz performing gypsy jazz at the Ann Korologos Gallery from 5 to 9pm. KDNK's Cody Lee spoke with David Lawrence about La Pompe's new album and the upcoming show.

The Arts Campus at Willits will close The Temporary in May, but executive director Ryan Honey and artistic director Marc Breslin will not be slowing down their fundraising efforts, or straying from the vision for a permanent facility in Basalt. They spoke to KDNK's Gavin Dahl on Express Yourself about what's happening with the current space, the pop-ups and outdoor concerts they will host over the coming year, and the plan for phased development of their permanent home down the street from the Temporary. Between now and early May, bookings include Devotchka, Toubab Krewe, Joan Osborne, and Lowdown Brass Band.

Ryan Honey, Executive Director for The Arts Campus at Willits, appeared on Express Yourself to share about a partnership with The Art Base to present DaVinci & Michelangelo: The Titans Experience.

Singer-Songwriter Erika Ryann will be back in the Roaring Fork Valley for a KDNK benefit concert on Thursday, November 15th. She will be in the spotlight at the Mountain Music Showcase along with Let Them Roar, at The Temporary in Basalt. She talks with station manager Gavin Dahl about recording music in barns, all the bands she has joined lately, and the Gram Parsons record on her turntable at the moment. 

Craig Childs

In addition to celebrating one year at the Temporary this weekend, the Arts Campus at Willits is also premiering Summer Solace, a multi-media, story-telling performance with adventure author Craig Childs. Craig joined Raleigh on Express Yourself to talk about the event.

Niceness


Niceness, a group that describes itself as “”positively grounded Rocky Mountain roots reggae” integrates elements of soul, funk, latin, and hip-hop. KDNK presents Niceness at The Temporary tonight, July 13, at 9pm.
