The Roaring Fork Rams Boys Basketball Team was coming off a tough loss in the 3A Western Slope Championship Game on February 25. They dropped that tilt 56-34, coming away as the runner up on the Western Slope.
They entered the 3A CHSAA Boys Basketball State Tournament as the 17th seed out of thirty teams, and faced the 16th seed Woodland Park Panthers in the first round.
The Rams got the victory Friday night, advancing to the second round with a 53-48 win over the Panthers.
They now face what will likely be their stiffest challenge of the year: a matchup with No. 1 seed Faith Christian, a basketball juggernaut that went 25-1 on the season.
Tipoff is at 1 p.m. Saturday.
