Ecstatic Imbolc
Ecstatic Imbolc
Come together to celebrate the sacred seasonal moment of Imbolc with dance and movement, song, poetry and ritual ceremony. This fundraiser for those affected by the LA Wildfires aims to germinate true help and hope for those in need.
Jen Campbell and Dana Ellis will help all gathered to co-create a movement experience, offering guidance and prompts to explore as we move, breathe and dance together, to music by DJ and violinist Lydia Bain. Gabriela Mejia and Clay Allen & the Pocket Band will offer songs, and at the center of the event, Hanamaya Wild will lead the group in ritual ceremony.
Imbolc is a cross-quarter holiday in the Celtic wheel of the year. It comes at the halfway point between the Winter Solstice and Spring equinox, and marks the moment when winter’s power starts to wane, giving way to the earliest signs of spring. It is the time when deep beneath the earth, seed husks begin to crack. Hope, though not yet visible, is reborn.
This event is geared towards adults but will welcome children 12 and older who can hold sacred ceremonial space.
