The community is invited to celebrate the life of beloved Aspen icon Rita Hunter on Sunday, June 2 at 2pm at the Aspen School District Theatre. Rita died on July 1, 2023 from ALS. She found "home" in Aspen in 1970 and spent the rest of her days there, always making sure it was a welcoming place for locals and visitors alike. For 29 years, she was a friendly and skilled salesperson at Pitkin County Dry Goods. But it was her volunteer work for Aspen Community Theatre for which she may be most remembered. Over the span of four decades, she produced or co-produced 50+ shows. This gathering will celebrate and honor Rita's beautiful life and her profound contribution to the spirit of this community. All are welcome.
