Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art focused on re-directing conflict into harmony. Benefits include confidence, discipline, stress-relief, resilience, community-building and fitness. Kids' classes incorporate a mixture of technique and relevant games. As they progress, they will have the opportunity to test for colored belts.

Join us for Walking Club hosted by Cook Inclusive!
Every other week we host a walking club, on Mondays at 5PM, that are aimed to be inclusive of every age and ability, while we explore different paved paths throughout Carbondale. We walk about 2 miles every meeting. We will meet outside of the Cook Inclusive office (50 Weant Blvd, Carbondale, CO 81623). We will also end our walk at the same location.
This is a FREE event that is led by individuals that have education and training focused on inclusive navigation. That means whether you join us with children in strollers, are wheelchair bound, or use a mobility aid, we are able to help provide a positive experience.
Again, this is an inclusive club, so even if you do not have mobility concerns, we invite you to still join us for an easy paced walk!

Want to test the waters before committing to a several-week class? Crave an evening out of the house? Interested in trying something new? This 2.5hr teen & adult one-day intro to wheel throwing is perfect for learning the basics and opening your eyes to the possibilities of clay. You will gain a better awareness of the process and craftsmanship that goes into ceramics. We will cover centering, opening, and pulling clay pieces on the potter's wheel. Because this is just a 2.5 hour introductory experience, the intention is to focus on process. You won't go home with any finished pieces, but you will have a great evening learning a new skill, getting dirty, and meeting new people. Careful! You might just leave wanting more…

Tap into the transformative power of “Yes, And…” Designed for beginners, this fast-paced, five-week workshop focuses on the fundamentals of improv comedy, through scenes, characters, and games. Come ready to PLAY and fail joyfully!

Sessions meet Mondays: Oct. 6, 13, 20, 27, Nov 3*, from 6:30-8:30pm at TACAW. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Registration for this workshop also includes complementary registration for One-Night Stand: Jam with Consensual Improv on Nov 3rd.

Recording Time (with Scraps and Words) by mixed media artist Courtney Kenny incorporates poetry as a form of sketching to record observations, emotions, frustrations, and revelations. Through her own art and poetry, Courtney documents these visceral moments of awe.

Intimate. Immensity. Laura Dortmans’ ceramic sculptures perform as a surrogate for the physicality of her body. The solidification of gestural movement translates a moment of intimate touch and gives form to the immensity of internal geography; desire, tender love, preserved in space and time

Fluid Landscapes by Michael Kinsley features newer landscape paintings, notable for their intriguing amplification of nature’s sensual forms. These “fluid” landscapes in oil depict familiar scenes in southeastern Utah and western Colorado, especially in the Roaring Fork Valley.

All three shows are generously sponsored by Basalt Printing and Art Supply, and on display through October 30. The gallery is open weekdays 10am-5pm.

Raising a Reader- Aspen to Parachute invites you to our "Little Red Bag Club" for parents and their 0-5 year old children who are not enrolled in school. Join us for a weekly hour of story time, activities and snacks. These classes support brain development and social skills, and are led in Spanish.
