Glenwood Springs Historical Society invites everyone to a free public event exploring the past and future of the historic Cardiff Coke Ovens on Wednesday, January 14, at 6:30 pm, at Glenwood Springs Community Center. Historian Carolyn Cipperly will give a presentation on the history of the ovens and their importance to the various mines and towns served by the Colorado Midland Railway. A discussion of the opportunities and obstacles associated with preserving the coke ovens will follow.
Open Mic Every Wednesday. Basic PA and instruments provided. Or bring your own axe. Play solo or jam with new friends. Music, Comedy, Spoken Word - the stage is yours!

Aikido classes at CMC Carbondale are now forming for the Spring Semester. Aikido emphasizes non-violent conflict resolution. Principles and techniques are applicable to all types of conflict, not just physical. Training takes place in a joyful and supportive environment. Great workout for mind, body, and spirit. No experience or equipment needed. Classes meet in Carbondale from 6-7:30 every Tuesday and Thursday evening. Try the first 2 classes for free.
