Do you love to read nonfiction? The Carbondale Library invites you to read a nonfiction book of your choice around a monthly theme and then join us as we discuss and socialize around the books we read. The theme for March is any nonfiction book of your choice about a recipient of the Nobel Prize. For more information call the library 970-963-2889.
Sopris Lodge at Carbondale Senior Living will host a presentation exploring the differences between palliative and hospice care on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 3 p.m. The talk will be co-led by Dr. Shane Lieberman of Valley View Hospital and Peter Schoomaker of HomeCare and Hospice of the Valley.
Speakers will address common misconceptions and help individuals and families understand who benefits from palliative and hospice care, when each type of care is appropriate, and how to access these compassionate, supportive services throughout serious illness and at the end of life.
The educational presentation will be held at Sopris Lodge at Carbondale, 295 Rio Grande Avenue. The event is free open to the public, but an RSVP is requested at 970-678-0057.

English In Action’s signature live storytelling event, Immigrant Voices, celebrates the compelling stories of the organization’s adult English learners and spotlights the breadth and vitality of immigrants in the Roaring Fork Valley. Since its inception, Immigrant Voices has wowed sold-out TACAW audiences and become an anticipated and visible event in the Roaring Fork Valley community. Presented by English In Action in partnership with TACAW and Alya Howe’s Writ Large.

Engage in writing prompts that ignite the imagination, learn new craft strategies and styles, and be inspired by other poets and writers in the group.
