Lights, camera, action! Join us each month for Teen Movie Night at the library—a fun, relaxed space just for teens to hang out and enjoy a great film on the big screen. We’ll feature a different movie every month, from new favorites to throwback classics, with plenty of popcorn and good company. Bring your friends, get cozy, and experience movie night—library style!

Un espacio divertido y relajado sólo para adolescentes, donde podrás pasar un buen rato y disfrutar de una buena cinta en la pantalla grande. Presentaremos una película distinta cada mes, desde títulos nuevos favoritos hasta cintas clásicas de retroceso, con bastantes palomitas y en buena compañía. Trae a tus amistades, acomódate bien, ¡y vive una noche de película al estilo de la biblioteca!

Sol Theatre Company and TACAW are excited to co-host a three-part professional development workshop for artists and educators interested in developing their skills as a teaching artist. This series is designed for creatives of all disciplines who want to further hone their teaching craft and create effective, engaging, and inclusive arts education programs.

Participants will explore the core responsibilities of a teaching artist, including classroom management, lesson planning, and adapting instruction for diverse learning needs. The workshop emphasizes practical tools and real-world application, culminating in hands-on teaching practice with youth actors. By the end of the series, artists will gain confidence in leading a classroom, designing age-appropriate lessons, and stepping into teaching artist roles in schools, community programs, and arts organizations.

This workshop is ideal for creatives who are curious about arts education, seeking supplemental income, or looking to expand their professional practice through teaching.

Raising a Reader- Aspen to Parachute invites you to our "Little Red Bag Club" for parents and their 0-5 year old children who are not enrolled in school. Join us for a weekly hour of story time, activities and snacks. These classes support brain development and social skills, and are led in Spanish.

Knitters and crocheters (and any other yarn workers) come together to work on and discuss projects, yarn, and techniques. Open to all; bring your own supplies and works-in-progress.

A monthly gathering of writers who come together at White River Bookstore in Carbondale, where we connect to root ourselves in reflection through storytelling and journaling. Through prompts and meaningful stories, we will explore our beliefs, feelings, empowered actions, sense of belonging, and collective spirit for ourselves, our community, and the world. This is an invitation to slow down, connect, and find stillness and clarity in the act of writing together. Bring your journal and a pen! Donations are optional.

We are excited to invite families to our early literacy story times. Designed for all ages, we will enjoy stories, songs, and action rhymes in the Community Room. Sitting still is not a requirement for storytime. Young children can reap the benefits of storytelling and songs even while wandering. Give it a try. We would love to see you!

Con gran emoción deseamos invitar a todas las familias a nuestra hora de cuentos para respaldar la alfabetización temprana, creada para peques de todas las edades y presentada en nuestra Sala Comunitaria. Disfrutaremos de historias, canciones y juegos que combinan las rimas con el movimiento. La capacidad de permanecer inmóviles no es una expectativa para la hora de los cuentos, puesto que los beneficios de la narrativa y la música siguen siendo de gran beneficio incluso para peques que prefieren explorar mientras escuchan. High Rockies Harm Reduction provides free overdose prevention materials, education and support, including Narcan and fentanyl test strips, syringe disposal, hygiene supplies, peer support and more EVERY Wednesday in the West Glenwood Mall Parking Lot from 12 PM - 2 PM

This afterschool program is for kids ages 5 to 11 years old. Meet on the Children's side of the library to participate in a variety of activities such as games, crafts, art, Legos and more!
