Join us for a special Banned Books Week tote bag painting event where you can design your own book-themed bag inspired by your favorite banned or challenged titles. We’ll provide the tote bags, paints, and stencils—you bring the creativity. Walk away with a one-of-a-kind bag that shows your support for the freedom to read and the power of stories. This is an all-ages event. Bring the whole family, friends and neighbors!

Acompáñanos para un evento de decoración de bolsas durante nuestra Semana de Libros Prohibidos, donde podrás diseñar tu propia bolsa con una temática literaria, inspirada en tus títulos prohibidos (o bien cuestionados) favoritos. Nosotros proporcionaremos las bolsas de lona, las pinturas y los esténciles —tú contribuirás con tu creatividad. Podrás llevarte a casa una bolsa única en su género, que mostrará tu apoyo hacia la libertad de leer y el poder de las historias. Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art focused on re-directing conflict into harmony. Benefits include confidence, discipline, stress-relief, resilience, community-building and fitness. Kids' classes incorporate a mixture of technique and relevant games. As they progress, they will have the opportunity to test for colored belts.

Want to test the waters before committing to a several-week class? Crave an evening out of the house? Interested in trying something new? This 2.5hr teen & adult one-day intro to wheel throwing is perfect for learning the basics and opening your eyes to the possibilities of clay. You will gain a better awareness of the process and craftsmanship that goes into ceramics. We will cover centering, opening, and pulling clay pieces on the potter's wheel. Because this is just a 2.5 hour introductory experience, the intention is to focus on process. You won't go home with any finished pieces, but you will have a great evening learning a new skill, getting dirty, and meeting new people. Careful! You might just leave wanting more…

Tap into the transformative power of “Yes, And…” Designed for beginners, this fast-paced, five-week workshop focuses on the fundamentals of improv comedy, through scenes, characters, and games. Come ready to PLAY and fail joyfully!

Sessions meet Mondays: Oct. 6, 13, 20, 27, Nov 3*, from 6:30-8:30pm at TACAW. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Registration for this workshop also includes complementary registration for One-Night Stand: Jam with Consensual Improv on Nov 3rd.

Recording Time (with Scraps and Words) by mixed media artist Courtney Kenny incorporates poetry as a form of sketching to record observations, emotions, frustrations, and revelations. Through her own art and poetry, Courtney documents these visceral moments of awe.

Intimate. Immensity. Laura Dortmans’ ceramic sculptures perform as a surrogate for the physicality of her body. The solidification of gestural movement translates a moment of intimate touch and gives form to the immensity of internal geography; desire, tender love, preserved in space and time

Fluid Landscapes by Michael Kinsley features newer landscape paintings, notable for their intriguing amplification of nature’s sensual forms. These “fluid” landscapes in oil depict familiar scenes in southeastern Utah and western Colorado, especially in the Roaring Fork Valley.

All three shows are generously sponsored by Basalt Printing and Art Supply, and on display through October 30. The gallery is open weekdays 10am-5pm.

Raising a Reader- Aspen to Parachute invites you to our "Little Red Bag Club" for parents and their 0-5 year old children who are not enrolled in school. Join us for a weekly hour of story time, activities and snacks. These classes support brain development and social skills, and are led in Spanish.
