Teen Improv 101! In-Person
Get ready for a silly start to the new year by channeling your inner SNL performer in a fun class setting! Join your Teen Librarian, Travis Wilson, for an introduction into the world of improvisation on stage. This class is available to all teens whether they have performed for years or have never even tried. All you need to bring is a clear mind and be willing to lean into the discomfort of thinking on your feet!

Prepárate para comenzar el año nuevo de manera entretenida, ¡canalizando a tu comediante preferido de SNL en una clase divertidísima! Acompaña a Travis Wilson, nuestro bibliotecario para adolescentes, en una introducción al mundo de la improvisación en el escenario. Esta clase está disponible para todas las personitas adolescentes, ya sea que hayan realizado presentaciones por años o que nunca lo hayan intentado. ¡Lo único que necesitas traer es una mente clara y estar en buena disposición para experimentar la incomodidad que representan pensar rápido e improvisar!

Step into a world of magic and mystery during this welcoming Dungeons & Dragons session at the Basalt Regional Library. Guided by the Dungeon Master, players will work together to solve puzzles, explore fantastical landscapes, and shape the story through their choices. Come to meet new friends, try something creative, and enjoy an evening of play. All levels of experience are welcome, but basic familiarity with D&D is helpful.

Entra a un mundo de magia y misterio en esta sesión de bienvenida de Dungeons & Dragons (Calabozos y Dragones) en la Biblioteca Regional de Basalt. Guiadas por el Amo del Calabozo, las personas participantes trabajarán en colaboración para resolver los rompecabezas y acertijos, explorando los fantásticos paisajes y dándole vida a la historia a través de sus decisiones. Learn how, by restoring beavers, we can restore land health. Learn how you can get involved in restoring beavers to Colorado’s landscape. And, learn how we can coexist with beavers with nonlethal conflict prevention tools.

The Valley Visual Art Show (VVAS) is always our first exhibition of the new year, and one of the longest-standing community art shows committed to showing the work of local artists. VVAS began in 1980 as a venue for local artists to share their artwork with the public. This exhibition is a great opportunity for artists new to the area, as well as emerging and established artists.

Join us for the opening reception Friday, January 23 from 5-7pm. VVAS will be on display through February 26. The gallery is open weekdays 10am-5pm.

An engaging time where you and your child are invited to listen to stories, participate in large motor movement, experience sensory activities, and be able to interact with other children and caregivers. This is geared to children 0-3 years old.

Éste es un momento divertido e interesante en el cual tú y tu peque pueden escuchar historias, participar en movimientos que fortalecen la motricidad, experimentar actividades sensoriales e interactuar con más peques y personas adultas a su cuidado. Este programa está diseñado para peques de 0 a 3 años de edad. El programa será facilitado en inglés.

Pixie and The Partygrass Boys may be far from their humble beginnings, but they still don’t take themselves too seriously. Originating as ski bums playing house parties in Salt Lake City’s Cottonwood Canyons, they’ve evolved into a nationally touring band that always aims to have the most fun possible. Along with the skill and expertise that comes from nearly a decade of performing together, they bring the energy of closing weekend at your favorite ski resort to the stage. Their unique blend of heartfelt songwriting, high velocity instrumental excellence, silly outfits, and sing-along anthems has captivated audiences nationwide. Pixie and The Partygrass Boys invite the audience into their world every time they take the stage, hoping to share a piece of the magic they’ve found on the mountain tops and in the desert canyons of their Utah home.
