It’s time to welcome spring and celebrate the land at Aspen Valley Land Trust’s Springfest! This fully bilingual signature event is a chance to bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy an intimate picnic on the beautiful ranch house lawn of Strang Ranch in Missouri Heights on Sunday, May 19 from 11:00am – 2:00pm. Bring the family for a day filled with live music by Sweet Jessup & The Dirty Buckets and local eats from Taqueria El Yaqui. Watch exciting sheepdog demos by Bridget Strang, horseback riding demos from the Roaring Fork Hounds Pony Club, and “the littles” from Smiling Goat Ranch. There will be lots to see and do from crafts by Carbondale Arts and the Rosybelle Mobile Maker Space, the Farm Collaborative, and tours around this conserved property. Enjoy the afternoon at this beautiful, conserved property. A shuttle service will be available from downtown Carbondale next to Town Hall if you prefer not to drive. What’s new this year is a pay-what-you-can ticketing model for guests. Join us for a knitting and crocheting group to hang out, chat, share tips, and to meet other folks who fancy the craft needles! Bring whatever project(s) you are working on - all ability levels are welcome. We will share our knowledge and experience. Feel free to bring any yarn, patterns, or supplies you would like to donate so we can share amongst the group.
Our kids’ Aikido classes provide discipline, community building, and fun for ages 6-12.
Aikido is a non-violent, Japanese martial art that translates as “the way of harmonizing life force energy.” Training helps develop confidence, discipline, flexibility, fitness, mindset, cooperation, appropriate responsiveness, and healthy assertiveness.
Gather to practice Insight Meditation together as a community and hear the teachings of the Buddha.The program includes a 30-40 minute meditation, a short break for tea and cookies followed by a Dharma talk.
