Megan Tackett is the host of Express Yourself, KDNK's weekly arts show, and Everything Under the Sun. Megan also hosts All Things Considered on Fridays and is a reporter for Carbondale's weekly nonprofit newspaper: The Sopris Sun.

The Mt. Sopris Music Festival celebrates nearly two decades of showcasing local musicians on July 5. This year's line-up includes Miner Keys, Roaring Fork High School Jazz Band, Callin' Old Souls and The Wolf Tones. Artist Andy Taylor shares on Express Yourself about painting landscapes as a meditation. Andy's current exhibition, Open to the Unexpected, is hanging at the Ann Korologos Gallery through July 20th.

Deva Shantay presents Trusting Your Inner Voice at Coventure on Friday, July 5, at 5:30pm. She stopped by Express Yourself to share about her personal path towards understanding the roots of challenge and ways to honor and share our gifts and passions with the world.

Angel of Hope


Diane Orlov is creating a community-wide, collaborative mosaic angel to install at the St. Stephen Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs. This isn't the only vision for her nonprofit, Angel of Hope. Diane, along with Garry Schalla and Raleigh Burleigh, share details on Express Yourself.

Dance Initiative


Dance Initiative presents B5, a CoMotion Dance Company production at Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork on Friday June 28 at 8pm and at The New Ute Theater in Rifle at 8pm. Peter Gilbert dropped by to talk about the show with Megan on Express Yourself.

Let Them Roar

Let Them Roar created the new single, "I See My Light," to raise funds for sanctuary leaders in Colorado who are taking a stand against being separated from their families. Megan Tackett spoke with the band before debuting that single in Carbondale on Friday, June 21.


DJ Diego Felix will be guiding workshops with Carbondale Arts this summer. He spoke with Megan Tackett on Express Yourself about his music and that project.

Social activist and accomplished performing artist Heather Mae joins Megan Tackett of Express Yourself to share about her upcoming show at Steve's Guitars on June 20

Corey Simpson, Director of new show Tribes and Thunder River Theatre Company’s Executive Artistic Director joins host Megan Tackett live in the studio. Also in studio are local actress Brittany Dye and Michelle Schaefer, a visiting artist from Austin who is deaf and accompanied by an interpreter via Skype. Tribes previews June 13, and then shows for 3 weekends, including with ASL interpreters on June 28 and 29.

On Express Yourself, host Megan Tackett is joined by local artist Brad Reed Nelson of Board by Design. This year, the Bauhaus school celebrates its 100th year. In honor of this revolution in design, Carbondale Arts presents Bauhaus Seen a group exhibition of furniture designers curated by Brad, plus paintings by Richard Carter and Dave Durrance.  


Barbara Frota organizes a monthly series of ecstatic dances and potlucks called the Bonedale Boogie. The next dance is on Saturday, June 1, at Coredination & Bonedale Ballet from 7pm to 9pm.

Carbondale Public Arts Commission

Carbondale will soon see a new round of sculptures prop up around town. Sarah Moore joins Megan Tackett on Express Yourself to talk about the Carbondale Public Arts Commission and Art aRound Town.

Gabrielle Louise is joined by Jamie Payne on guitar, performing a preview on Express Yourself for her show at Steve's Guitars on May 24 at 8:30.

The 11th annual Bonedale Bike Week kicks off at Batch on Friday, May 17. Host Megan Tackett is joined by organizer Tracy Wilson and Carbondale Parks and Recreation Director Eric Brendlinger to talk about the other fun events.

The Sopris Sun

Renowned pianist Robin Sutherland passed away on December 21, 2020. His last concert in the Roaring Fork Valley was a benefit for The Sopris Sun on August 12 at the Redstone Castle. He spoke with Megan Tackett on Express Yourself about his local ties and fondness for music.

5Point Adventure Film Festival

Local filmmakers Tom Zuccareno and Tyler Wilkinson-Ray dropped by Express Yourself to share about their ongoing involvement with Carbondale's 5Point Adventure Film Festival.

Jessica FIchot

Musician Jessica Fichot draws inspiration from her international background to fuse genres like French chanson, Shanghai jazz and gypsy swing. She joined host Megan Tackett on Express Yourself ahead of her performance at Basalt Regional Library on Tuesday, April 9, at 5:30.


On April 12, beginning with a panel discussion from 3:30 to 5:30, six local companies will pitch projects to venture capital investors from around Colorado. The main event is at 7pm and is open to the community. Jonathan Stokely of Coventure stopped by Express Yourself to share details about the event.

Dr. Joel Fuhrman will be in Carbondale on April 6th for a talk at the Third Street Center at 7:30.
