Ask A Physical Therapist | Emily Banks

A Patient Perspective with Emily Banks; The challenges in finding the right medical and social support after an injury.

Join Dr. Tanice and guest Emily Banks for a discussion about the gritty parts of recovery and what it means to be an injured athlete. As an athlete, author, and marketing specialist in the running industry, Ms. Banks has a unique perspective of a common struggle. "Who am I when I can no longer do the things that form my identity?" The discussion also includes how healthcare providers, friends, colleagues, and employers can help support individuals who are acutely grappling with pain, disability, change in social structures, and the unknown of what tomorrow will bring.

Born and raised in Colorado, I have a passion for travel and being outdoors. Biking, skiing, snowboarding, waterskiing, sledding, hiking...anything outdoors brings me peace. I am so grateful to be in a career which allows me to help others maximize their physical abilities so that they may also enjoy the calling of nature or whatever their own passions may be. As a child, I grew up spending summer weekends on the Frying Pan River at my Great Grandparents' cabin and am thrilled to be back in the Roaring Fork Valley.
