This month on Immigrant Stories, a two-part interview with Tom Casey, general manager and development director of KILI Radio on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.
Like KDNK, KILI is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
The idea for this community access radio station grew out of the Wounded Knee Occupation in 1973. Ten years later, the station was born.
Host Water Gallacher and Tom Casey were VISTA volunteers and Colorado University Master's Degree students on Pine Ridge in the 1970s, and have been friends ever since.
