Local fire crews got the jump on a blaze on Catherine Store Rd. Monday before it could get out of hand.

KDNK's Morgan Neely has local and regional news, including a potential mid-year pay boost for Town of Carbondale employees. Also, local fire crews contain a blaze off Catherine Store Road Monday but continue to monitor its behavior; drones the size of washing machines could be reseeding burn scars across the Mountain West; some Front Range neighborhoods still have covenants prohibiting people of color from buying homes; artists head outdoors for Plein Air in Snowmass; and a Carbondale company turns vegetation waste into "black gold" at the foot of the Grand Mesa.

Morgan is KDNK's News Director. He comes to KDNK with public radio passion and experience. He was a news host, reporter, and opps guy at APR and also worked with Pitkin County for a couple of years. He says that getting back to public radio and reporting is where he wants to be.
