Several pantries in the region have seen their number of customers double since the pandemic began. Some folks who never needed food assistance before this summer are coming for the first time.

President Joe Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law last week. The massive piece of legislation funds programs ranging from electric vehicles, to advanced nuclear energy research. Specific to the Mountain West, it includes billions of dollars for forest lands and agriculture to fight climate change.

The Biden Administration is trying to curb inflation as people grapple with the increased costs of basic expenses. At the same time, Wyomingites and other Westerners are also struggling with another economic trend: stagnant wage growth.

UPDATE: Town Trustees unanimously approved the pay increase for town employees. Carbondale Trustees held their regular meeting Tuesday night. On the agenda? A possible mid-year pay boost for town employees. KDNK's Morgan Neely has more.
