Telluride-based extreme ski mountaineer Hilaree Nelson. The highly decorated North Face athlete is missing in Nepal after falling on Monday during a ski descent of Manaslu, the world's 8th highest peak. Numerous avalanches took place on Monday, killing at least one and partially burying at least a dozen others. Much is still unknown about how Nelson's accident occurred.

KDNK's Morgan Neely has the news, including a look at the Telluride-based extreme ski mountaineer who remains missing in Nepal after a catastrophic day on the world's 8th highest mountain. Also, ancient cave formations in Wyoming may help climate scientists better map the future of a changing planet. And, Rifle police shoot a man during a domestic disturbance on Saturday, while fired New Castle Police Chief Tony Pagni was arraigned on Tuesday for allegedly threatening his neighbor with a loaded assault rifle in late July.

Morgan is KDNK's News Director. He comes to KDNK with public radio passion and experience. He was a news host, reporter, and opps guy at APR and also worked with Pitkin County for a couple of years. He says that getting back to public radio and reporting is where he wants to be.
