Michael says that he is not always in balance, and sometimes gets off balance because he leans too wholeheartedly in one direction or the other.
Because he comes from two worlds—his mother is Anglo and his dad is Hopi—he has always had that internal conflict. But as he became more familiar with both, he saw how to benefit from both—and within that paradox found his balance.
He learned to value and accept contradiction. By accepting paradox he learned a lot about his identity—where he fits in, and where he doesn't.
