This I Remember: Mary Ferguson & Frank Smotherman Part 2

mary_ferguson.jpg

In 1984, the late Mary Ferguson recorded an interview with a man named Elmer Bair. But, the tape did not work on the radio, so Mary and the late Frank Smotherman ended up just having a conversation live on-air. This is the second part of that conversation.

Between 1984 and 1999 the late Mary Ferguson had a Public Affairs program here on KDNK, “This I Remember” Mary recorded all of her shows on cassette tapes, these tapes have been lost for years. Mary’s family discovered them and donated them to the Carbondale Historical Society, and KDNK was able to digitize all of the tapes! In collaboration with the Carbondale Historical Society, KDNK is proud to present these conversations! Click here for the complete audio archive. Enjoy!

Kenna has been a DJ on KDNK for 9 years. She grew up at KDNK as her mom Flash has been a DJ since 1983. She is happy to transition into Membership Director while keeping her show "Flyin' the Coop" alternating with her mom, Fridays 10-12 and her new Public Affairs show Chemical World, every second Monday of the month 4:30pm. Kenna is adding Volunteer and Events Coordinator to her title, and looks forward to continuing her relationship with the community she grew up in!
