The opening reception is from 5-7pm with artist talks beginning at 5:30pm. The gallery is open weekdays 10am-5pm.

Raising a Reader- Aspen to Parachute invites you to our "Little Red Bag Club" for parents and their 0-5 year old children who are not enrolled in school. Join us for a weekly hour of story time, activities and snacks. These classes support brain development and social skills, and are led in Spanish.

Each meetup will feature fun activities like manga and anime discussions, drawing challenges, themed crafts, recommendations, and plenty of time to hang out with fellow fans. Whether you’re a longtime otaku or just starting your manga journey, everyone is welcome!

At age 50, Ralph Wanner had a choice; buy an RV for a traditional retirement or chase a decades-long dream. He chose the dream and convinced his wife, Pat, to leave their Colorado home and join him on a 2-year self-supported bicycle journey from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to the southern tip of South America. Neither could have imagined what lay ahead. Join Pat and Ralph as they discuss their adventure in their recently released book, “To the End of the Earth,” at the Carbondale Branch Library at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Using the familiar “motivational poster” concept as a starting point, participants will explore the images, words, and ideas that truly motivate them. Rather than relying on generic designs, you’ll create expressive, personalized watercolor cards and posters that reflect your own sense of humor, hopes, and sources of encouragement.

These pieces make meaningful gifts, but more importantly, they’re reminders made for you. If you’re looking for a creative outlet with a positive twist, this workshop is for you.

On the 4th Tuesday of each month, local LGBTQIA+ community and allies gather to socialize, make art, network, and have fun—optionally with an adult beverage. Catch Jack Black as overly enthusiastic guitarist Dewey Finn, who gets thrown out of his bar band and finds himself in desperate need of work. Posing as a substitute music teacher at an elite private elementary school, he exposes his students to the hard rock gods he idolizes.
