Rifle resident Ramon Chacon died in 2024 -. the victim of a hit-and-run in Rifle. After two years, police have not identified the vehicle or its driver, and the case remains unsolved. KDNK’s Amy Hadden Marsh has this report.

The homicide suspect that caused a nearly ten-hour shutdown of I-70 through Glenwood Canyon on Tuesday has been taken into custody. Just after 4 -am Tuesday authorities were told to be on the lookout for 30-year-old Kenny Espinoza of Westminster, who was believed to be traveling near Gypsum and possibly armed.

Authorities are still looking for a man suspected in a homicide near Denver. I-70 remains closed in both directions.

The local Sexual Abuse Nurse Examiner program - or SANE - was resurrected in 2016 by Sherry Caloia, the 9th Judicial District attorney at the time. River Bridge, a nonprofit child advocacy center in Glenwood Springs, took it on in 2018. But, River Bridge director Blythe Chapman says, even though it was the right thing to do seven years ago, the program no longer fits the agency’s mission. The SANE program for adults closed on January 1. KDNK’s Amy Hadden Marsh spoke with Chapman to find out why.
