We are excited to inaugurate our music workshop series with a Songwriting session led by Jan Garret and JD Martin!
The July 7 and August 4 sessions will focus on the mechanics of songwriting. Jan & JD will guide participants through exercises designed to build songwriting skills and spark creativity. We hope you’ll join us for their follow-up workshops on July 21 and August 18th, where participants will have the opportunity to share their songs and receive feedback.
Jan Garrett recorded and toured with John Denver and Steve Martin (when he was still doing stand-up) and appeared on the Tonight Show. She joined Dirt Band for their historic 1977 Soviet Tour and was later listed in the Rolling Stone “Who’s Who in Rock & Roll.” Jan’s songs have won multiple awards in the world of positive music, and have been arranged, published and widely distributed by Cypress Music, a Canadian choral music company. JD Martin is an acclaimed songwriter of 5 Number One and 10 Top Ten country and pop hit singles. His songs have been recorded by such luminaries as Reba McEntire, Terri Clark, B.J. Thomas, Peter Cetera, and the Oak Ridge Boys. He has won over 15 ASCAP awards for excellence in songwriting in Nashville and LA. ¡Estamos emocionados de inaugurar nuestra serie de talleres musicales con una sesión de composición musical dirigida por Jan Garret y JD Martin!
Las sesiones del 7 de julio y del 4 de agosto se centrará en los métodos de composición musical. Jan y JD guiarán a las personas participantes a través de ejercicios diseñados para desarrollar aptitudes de composición musical y despertar la creatividad. Every Child Parachute to Aspen was established in November 2025 by the voters in Garfield, Eagle, and Pitkin Counties to fund early childhood development services through the collection of a 0.25% sales and use tax. Our mission is to ensure every child from Parachute to Aspen has a strong foundation for success by investing in accessible, high-quality early childhood education.

Join The Farm Collaborative for the Regeneration Ball on August 20 at Hotel Jerome—an inspiring evening bringing together food, climate, and community leaders at the heart of Aspen. Through our partnership with the Aspen Music Festival and School, we welcome talented students from the festival to perform the repertoire they’ve come to Aspen to refine this summer. This intimate concert offers a rare opportunity to experience these musicians up close and engage with them in a post-concert conversation about their lives and artistry. Performance information will be announced on the day of the concert.

An engaging time where you and your child are invited to listen to stories, participate in large motor movement, experience sensory activities, and be able to interact with other children and caregivers. This is geared to children 0-3 years old.

Éste es un momento divertido e interesante en el cual tú y tu peque pueden escuchar historias, participar en movimientos que fortalecen la motricidad, experimentar actividades sensoriales e interactuar con más peques y personas adultas a su cuidado.
