Food Access

According to Feeding America, over six hundred seventy thousand people in Colorado face food insecurity. One local organization is attempting to bridge the gap of equal access to nutritious food in the Roaring Fork Valley.

The Garfield Re-2 school district is working with the USDA to bridge the nutrition gap faced by many children over summer vacation. Federal programming allows Garfield county to keep providing breakfast, and lunch to children 18 and younger through late July.
