UPDATE 12/15/25: Pitkin County Sheriffs reported on Saturday that Bull has been found deceased.19 year old Stephen Bull was reported missing by his family almost two weeks ago in Pitkin County. He was last seen in the Woody Creek vicinity on Tuesday December 2nd. Since then, Pitkin County Sheriffs and Mountain Rescue Aspen’s combined efforts have been unsuccessful. KDNK’s Lily Jones spoke with Pitkin County Sheriff’s Parker Lathrop to learn more.

Bear and human interactions are dangerous for everyone involved. The danger to humans is clear, and bears can be euthanized for digging in dumpsters and venturing into neighborhoods. Every year Colorado Parks and Wildlife records bear-human incidents from the first of January to December, and this year there’s been a spike across the state.

The Carbondale and Rural Fire District covers a swath of land stretching from McClure Pass to Missouri Heights and a good chunk of the Hwy 82 corridor. Voters there will decide a ballot question asking for more money for firefighting and other emergency services. Citizens for a Safe Community is campaigning for the measure.
